The workshop sits at Burpengary East, which is close to the middle of the region rather than the edge of it. That is why the run north to Caboolture and the run south to Albany Creek are both short days, and why an early call and a late one can often be fitted on the same road.

The region is not one type of house, and the door on the front of it changes with the era of the street.

Acreage and semi-rural. Armstrong Creek, Beachmere, Bellthorpe, Bunya, Camp Mountain and Cashmere run to larger blocks where the shed door does more work than the house door. Newer estate. Albany Creek, Banksia Beach, Bongaree, Bribie Island, Burpengary and Cashmere are largely master-planned, so the doors went on at much the same time and reach the end of their spring life at much the same time. Older brick, timber and cottage stock. Arana Hills, Beachmere, Bray Park, Bribie Island, Caboolture and Clontarf still hold plenty of tilt doors, narrow openings and under-house garaging, where the fix is often a hardware problem rather than a door problem.

Broken torsion springs are the single most common call across Moreton Bay, and the estate suburbs supply most of them — a street built in one go tends to fail in one go. After springs it is cables off the drum, rollers worn flat, and openers that strain, reverse or stop halfway.
